Tax is increasingly becoming an unavoidable issue for companies. In the global context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), following the OECD/G20 BEPS Project that has paved the way for a wider trend towards fairer international tax system, and in light of the increased expectations of EU policy makers, citizens and civil society on companies’ tax behaviour, sustainable companies need to start to consider tax as a fundamental CSR matter.
As the leading Business Network on Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR Europe has therefore launched as of 2016 a project on tax transparency and responsible tax behaviour to contribute to this discussion and look at companies’ total impact to society. Moreover, as information on companies’ good practices in this field are not so easily available, CSR Europe, together with PwC Netherlands developed a Blueprint that features and analyses examples of some specific measures and initiatives implemented by companies in this area, which can serve as inspiration for industry peers who are striving to become more responsible and transparent on their tax policies and payments.
The event will take place on 21 March 2019 in Brussels at Accountancy Europe’s offices (Avenue d'Auderghem 22-28/8, 1040) and will be the opportunity for you to:
Learn about the Blueprint;
Hear more about the experience of the companies featured in the publication;
Join the discussion with the other attending stakeholders, including policy makers and representatives from the accounting profession and civil society, and to share your views on what’s next in the field of tax transparency and responsible tax behavior.
