National EU Talent workshop organised by RBF Poland

Responsible Business Forum (RBF) in Poland organised a national EU Talent workshop on April 12 during the 7th CSR Marketplace in Poland, also held by the organisation.

The workshop gathered a multi-stakeholder group of almost 40 people including SMEs, NGOs, corporations, development agencies, universities. Representatives from CSR Europe and RBF Poland presented details, opportunities, and challenges about the project, in both Europe and Poland, as well as how SMEs can get involved with the project.

Addressing the benefits apprenticeships brings to companies, Maciej Świerczyński from BNI Poland, stressed the value of educating a future employee from the start and underlined that apprenticeships are an ideal way of doing so. Maciej Świerczyński represents the perspective of both an owner of an SME and a regional director of an organisation that gathers hundreds of SMEs.

During the panel debate, moderated by Marzena Strzelczak, general director of RBF Poland, the panel was asked to discuss the importance of apprenticeships in fighting unemployment and helping businesses prosper. They stressed the importance of cooperation between institutions and companies as a way to organise effective apprenticeships.

The panel was representatives from MAJSTER-Pol (a Polish SME), Fundacja Firmy Rodzinne (the Family Business Foundation), Fundacja Program Pomocy Pierwsza Praca (a foundation helping young people from children’s home finding their first job), and  SGH (SGH Warsaw School of Economics)

Responsible Business Forum in Poland is one of the 13 partners involved in Europe in the EU Talent project.
