Council conclusions on sustainable garment value chains

On May 19, 2017, the Council of the EU adopted its conclusions on sustainable Garment Value Chains.

The text supports the promotion of responsible supply chains in the textile and clothing sectors by calling for new measures to eradicate human rights violations in this sector. Amongst other things, the Council calls upon the Commission to promote new CSR tools, including due diligence schemes carried out by companies in their supply chains.
