The following EU-related events are taking place in July- December 2018:
EU-Canada Civil Society Forum: Trade and Sustainable Development under the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) (September 12, Brussels)
Officials from the European Commission and from the Government of Canada will exchange views with the participants on the sustainable development aspects of the Agreement, including on the implementation of Chapter 22 (Trade and Sustainable Development), Chapter 23 (Trade and labour) and Chapter 24 (Trade and environment).
CETA was signed in Brussels on 30 October 2016 and has been provisionally applied since 21 September 2017. Find the text of the agreement as well as more information on CETA here.

Workshop on advanced and interoperable digital business-to-business platforms for smart factories and energy (October 15-16, Brussels)
Users and suppliers of business-to-business (B2B) digital industrial platforms are invited to discuss user requirements, existing commercial and community-driven solutions, and the best ways to address the challenges they face.
The first day will focus on users’ perspectives, and during the second day solution providers will present how they can address the identified needs and requirements.The workshop will also look at how to integrate evolving technologies in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and blockchain.
A report with main discussions will be published after the workshop. Conclusions and recommendations will also be fed to the High Level Governance Meeting of the National Initiatives on digitising industry.
European Vocational Skills Week 2018 (November 5-9, Vienna)
European Vocational Skills Week 2018 is the third annual celebration of excellence in vocational education and training (VET).
To promote and encourage more vocational education and training, the European Commission wants to showcase excellence and quality, and raise awareness of the wide range of opportunities that this training presents.
During the main week in Vienna, a series of events and activities will also take place – including a press conference, conferences, workshops, visits, and an awards ceremony.

Raw Materials Week 2018 (November 12-16, Brussels)
Following the success of the Raw Materials Week 2017, the 3rd edition of the EU 'Raw Materials Week' will take place from Monday 12 to Friday 16 November 2018 in Brussels.
The event builds upon a series of events organised by the European Commission addressing the latest news on raw materials in the EU. It will be a unique opportunity for the raw materials community to discuss and exchange on all relevant issues – policy, technology, international cooperation, framework conditions, knowledge base, etc.

ICT 2018: Imagine Digital – Connect Europe (December 4-5, Vienna)
ICT 2018 is a research and innovation event that will focus on the European Union’s priorities in the digital transformation of society and industry. The event will present an opportunity for the people involved in this transformation to share their experience and vision of Europe in the digital age.
This event will have four main components converging around the theme Imagine Digital – Connect Europe: Conference, Exhibition, Networking opportunities and Innovation and Startups forum.
The conference programme features influential speakers and debates around EU’s digital policy, and will involve relevant parties from industry, research and public bodies. The ‘Imagine18’ campaign will reach out to generations ranging from teenagers to the elderly to learn how citizens feel about the digital revolution and its effects on daily life.
As part of the ICT 2018 Exhibition programme, EU-funded research and innovation successes will be presented to the public. Visitors will also have the chance to meet the innovators behind these projects.
ICT 2018 offers networking opportunities both offline and online. Participants can meet and engage with the academic and research community, decision-makers, as well as business representatives.
The Innovation and Startups forum will bring together market-oriented innovators and investors, and will present marketable research and innovation results from EU-funded projects.
