Looking for inspiration in implementing the SDGs? CSR Europe is setting up a Japan-EU business incubator to make the UN SDGs very practical.
Collaboration is the key driver for impactful action by business. The March 2017 report from the Business Policy Forum on the SDGs in Japan and Europe clearly points out that companies look at other business partners to leverage their efforts towards the SDGs.
Furthermore, there is a strong convergence on the SDGs identified as key priorities. Japanese and European companies share following key priorities towards the SDGs:
- Climate action
- Responsible consumption and production
- Decent work and economic growth
- Good health & well being
- Affordable & clean energy
Within the frame of the EU-Japan Business Dialogue, the Keidanren CBCC (Council for Better Corporate Citizenship), Japan Business Council in Europe and the Japan Business Policy Forum, together with CSR Europe organise the 2nd Japan – EU Leadership initiative on the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development to be held in Tokyo, Japan on 6 and 7 November 2017.
During the meeting, Keidanren, METI (Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and the European Commission will outline their respective SDG programmes for the upcoming year. Active exchange around incubator roundtables, as well as company visits, are also included.
The goal is to launch a joint innovative project between leading European and Japanese companies on implementing the SDGs.
A detailed programme is currently being developed, but member companies of CSR Europe interested in this unique opportunity, can already contact:
