Kosovo: Framework for Support in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and CSR
On the 26th of August, the UN Development Coordinator in Kosovo, Ulrika Richardson, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Linda Tahiri, Executive Director of Kosovo CSR Network, to provide the framework for supporting CSR activities.
This memorandum formalizes the cooperation between the UN Kosovo Team - UNKT and Kosovo CSR Network, which represents responsible businesses in Kosovo, in areas of common interest such as human rights; labour rights; environment; fighting corruption; and various issues of social character. It has been established under the assumption that something voluntary must be done to address our responsibility to society, which goes beyond the obligation to comply with regulations and laws in force.
Furthermore, thanks to this partnership, they will be able to work towards aligning the strategies of companies operating in Kosovo with the principles of social responsibility and liaising with the UN Development Agenda. This cooperation commits both organisations to work together more closely towards a common goal for all of us, for a more sustainable future. It is expected to contribute to job security, gender equality, environmental protection, and other areas in order to approximate the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
