The EU push forward for a deeper partnership with India

High Representative Mogherini presented a Joint Communication to display European strategy on India, addressing global order and sustainable growth.

The EU has released on the 20th of November a Joint Communication outlining its strategy on the collaboration with India, as reported by the EC press release. The approach builds on the worldwide strategy of the EU to enforce agreements and partnership not only with economic ends, but pushing for a deeper collaboration also on the issues of rules-based global order and sustainability.

The collaboration with India will take place in multilateral and bilateral arenas, and the European Union will provide the country expertise and technology in sustainable infrastructure development, transport regulatory frameworks, circular economy, environmental protection, and digitalisation. For a full implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the EU will support also talent and innovation, fostering reciprocal mobility of students and researchers and consolidating network of innovators and start-ups.
