L’Oréal's 2016 Progress Report embodies progress and commitment toward 2020 targets

After launching their Sharing Beauty With All programme in 2013, L’Oréal has made it their priority to act across the entire value chain.

Upon passing the halfway mark in their 2020 ambitions, results published by L’Oréal in the 2016 Sharing Beauty With All Progress Report prove that the company has made a great deal of progress in achieving their targets. L’Oréal, however, has not stopped yet- an in-depth transformation is already underway in order to ensure that the company surpasses their ambitious targets.

Amongst their key figures laid out in the report, the company has reduced the CO2 emissions of its plants and distribution centres by 67%, improved the environmental or social profile of over 82% of their products, and increased the number of Group brands that have conducted an assessment of their environmental or social impact to 90%. Moreover, the report cites that 67,533 people from communities in difficulty have had access to work through one of L’Oréal’s programmes in 2016.

In 2016, L’Oréal was awarded a triple “A”, representing the top score, for each of the three ratings made by the CDP on key topics: climate protection, sustainable water management and the fight against deforestation. Only two companies out of over 3,000 assessed all over the world obtained this triple “A” score in 2016.
