The European Commission will launch an expert group on Future of Work
The European Commission will launch this June a “High-Level Group on the impact of the digital transformation in the labour market”.
The goal of the expert group is to analyse and advise the Commission on the impact of the digital transformation on EU labour markets and explore policy options in this regard.
The expert group will notably focus on:
- Analysing how to shape human-centric transformation
- Identifying social impacts of digitalisation and artificial intelligence
- Assessing to what extent current systems (such as social security, tax and benefits, lifelong learning) are fit for purpose
- Making suggestions on a way forward.
The analysis will feed into a study report, presented to the European Commission in first half of 2019.
The expert group will be gathering expertise from social and economic policy, labour economics, computer science, AI and robotics, social and labour law, fiscal policy, education policy, or other disciplines.
CSR Europe is, together with its members, bidding to take part in this group as to advance the role of CSR and company actions in delivering a sustainable future of work in EU policy agenda.
