On May 6 took place the presentation event of the Give & Gain 2019, the IX International Week of Corporate Volunteering, which Forética led for the ninth consecutive year in Spain from May 7 to 14.
Forética organizes this initiative, which is a reference at the international level in the field of corporate volunteering and employee solidarity action, with the participation of the Hazloposible Foundation as a strategic partner, the sponsorship of Johnson & Johnson and Janssen, the institutional support of the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare, the High Commissioner for the Fight against Child Poverty of the Ministry of the Presidency, the Community of Madrid, the Balearic Government, the Xunta de Galicia, the Cabildo de Tenerife and the participation of the ATRESMEDIA Group. The preliminary impact data of the International Week show an increase in the number of volunteers, beneficiaries, companies and NGOs compared to the previous edition, as highlighted by the leader of the initiative, Ana Gómez. More than 60 companies from different economic sectors (energy, catering, hospitality, food, banking, technologies, public institutions, among others) in collaboration with more than 120 NGOs carried out different corporate volunteering actions. More than 2,700 volunteers participated in social, environmental, sports, cultural or training projects, benefiting more than 14,600 people.
The initiative aims to generate the greatest possible impact in improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable communities and in their social and labour inclusion. Specifically, the 2019 edition puts a special focus on corporate volunteering initiatives that seek to highlight the important role of companies in contributing to the fight against child poverty.
